Good Morning Sparkles, how was your weekend?
I read this from Ash Ambirge yesterday morning and it hit me like a truck,
What is it?
The thing you sighed with relief about this morning? The thing you didn’t have to do on a Saturday? The thing you exhaled about? (And maybe even shimmied around the room naked over).
That’s the thing.
Pay very close attention to this thing.
Because, as she goes on to say, this thing is wisdom. Is it the same thing you get up every day thinking “I don’t want to do this, but I have to.” And you complain about it.
So suddenly it’s controlling you and you are not in control of your big, beautiful life any more.
What if you took a moment before sliding out of bed smacking your iphone alarm, to ruminate on “I choose to do it, for [insert here] reason.” To pay the school fees, the utility bill, to save for my holiday.” See there I go, off down an alleyway assuming it’s work related, because it usually is but stay with me here.
If you’re reading this, you’re probably someone who has chosen the life you have. You’ve probably chosen to send your kids to that school, or live in the place you live. Unlike many folks walking a railway track to Hungary with their children on their shoulders. Or people who are locked in heartbreak and grief after a tragic death, as we all inevitably are at one stage or another, we certainly do not choose that, so I’m not talking to you here, hugs to you.
Anyway to the rest of you let’s choose, let’s be cognisant of our choices and not let the buggers control us.
If you’re fortunate enough to have choice, relish it.
And if you don’t?
Choice will keep smacking you over the head with a wet kipper until you pay attention.
